Currently leading the UX for AI and banking products at North.

I design complex, technical products from first sketch to shipped build: an engineer's logic, a designer's craft, and full ownership of the project and the client.

Experience

From engineering into product.

A product-design-engineering degree, then a design career: industrial to digital, intern to lead. Open a role for the detail.

  • Redesigned a deep-tech AI-evaluation platform: corrected its structural model and cut the 0→1 set-up flow from ~30–40 steps to 7.
  • Skipped the Figma hand-off: with fast AI prototyping I gave engineering a dev-ready kit (HTML, CSS and JS) so they could implement the rebuild inside a strict deadline. The new design shipped on time and drew 500+ sign-ups, which the conventional route wouldn't have reached.
  • Client lead on a two-market competitive benchmark for a French bank: ran delivery with a two-person research team, 14 platform analyses across Spain and Portugal.
  • Unified a regulated bank's trading, payments and everyday flows onto the bank's own design language.
2023 — 2025 Human Call to ActionUX/UI Designer · Barcelona
  • Designed accessible, responsive interfaces to WCAG 2.2 across client projects.
  • Brought over-budget projects back within scope through hands-on delivery and close client communication.
2020 — 2021 Harbro LtdDesign Engineering Intern · Glasgow
  • Cut material use 15% by redesigning an industrial product to meet 2030 EU plastic regulations, preserving function and durability.
  • Managed the project's budget and timeline; delivered on both despite COVID constraints.

About

One designer, the whole project.

I'm Julian, a product designer who reads a system like an engineer and shapes it like a designer, and owns the whole project. Off the clock, I'm usually climbing, out on the water, or playing in a band.
